Bulkhead panel replacement 1980.
« on: March 06, 2019, 08:05:56 PM »
Hi

I need a left hand bulkhead end to suit a 1980 Moke. This is the model that doesn’t have the outer windscreen reinforcement panel as you know. The PO decided to weld in the angled seam and bog it for a smooth look. Luckily they didn't do the right hand side after making a complete hash of it. After seeing some replacement panels available online would I need the inner bulkhead replacement panel then weld the windscreen support piece (the small strip of angle) to it or is there a specific panel for the late model Mokes available?

Hi,

on the 1980 Mokes that piece was not fitted and the windscreen frame went all the way down to the guard.

Do you have a picture of the windscreen frame that you have, maybe it is the earlier style giving you the idea that picture panel s missing.

The windscreen goes all the way to the Botton as it should. I haven't removed any panels as yet.
I think the description listed on the minisport website may be incorrect or misleading. The one I originally listed looks to be the inner panel that the outer one is welded too.
Here's a pic of the 2 together. The outer one as you said isn't fitted to the 1980 model.
