is this the Moke you were wanting the spare trailing arms for so you could swap them in and out?

The adapter pin looks like a much easier job than replacing the arms each time you want to run the heavier shocks.

I didnt have any spare trailing arms and that was going to be the plan, but now if I want to tow the trailer or need to use heavier suspension I can just remove the adapter and swap the shockie’s.

Well PRUs stance is much better and by lowering it all down to a more standard height has helped heaps with the toe in on the front wheels. Much better on round a bouts etc.

Well the Facet Electric fuel pump had to go. I couldn't get it to be quiet, and I didn't want to move it somewhere where there was enough room to fit it on the cotton reel rubber mounts.
So I ordered a new SU style pump and spent a bit of time trying to fit into a very small space. Had to do it with a full tank of juice didnt I

, Its been a week now and I reakon I can still smell the fuel all up my arms

.
Worth it though, so quiet, a small tick as I turn the key, then nothing

, even without rubber mounts I cant hear it at all, awsome

Hp,

I was thinking today why you went to the trouble of chopping up the floor to locate the fuel pump but then looking at it again tonight I remembered you have the full length tank cover so it is not in the floor as such, just the cover. You are forgiven my son.

You might be able to hide a few more things up there.

Yep Terry, side fill cylindrical tank. There is a lot of wasted space in there and the problem is it’s not very useable either. A couple of times I’ve kinked the fuel line fitting up, but it’s out of the engine bay.

Gee its been a while since I've added to this thread, have just been given the "Warning, 120 day" alarm

PRU runs pretty well and is driven most days.
I took her down to the Victorian Mini Car Club Show at the Melbourne Show grounds the other week, Oh my, as expected there were some very nice cars in a hanger chock block full of nice Mokes and their derivitives

They even gave us all "Drip Trays"

I can use mine again

Any way, the week before we head down I noticed the drivers side CV boot had come off the CV. It was hard as a rock. Not plyable at all. So I pulled it out, pulled apart the CV and cleaned everything out. Re assembled and repacked with fresh grease and refitted with a new spare boot I had. I used the cable tie that came with the boot but by the time I drove to work and back, it had come off. I replaced it with another type and it lasted till I got back from Melbourne and I havnt had time to fix it till this morning. Now its just annoying me, so back to the old school tie wire

. Bet it wont come off now

HI,

I am more conservative and just do two loops of wire, you've three.

I was doing a new Inner CV and boot yesterday and there was a fancy looking style clip with a ratchet type set up that looks reusable if you could get it to work in the first place. No instructions, i did look after about 10 minutes of stuffing around with it, and by about the 15 minute mark out came the roll of wire and all done in a matter of minutes.

The cable ties on the outer tend to catch on the hub where they join, unless you use really small ones joined together.

And the drip tray is for Minis, not Mokes, that would be why it looks clean.

Pretty sure that’s what was happening Terry, the cable tie needs to be a fairly low profile to not hit the hub. And the 3 loops was more that the wire was there, than that’s what I planned. Usually twice around is ample. Will see.

Oh dear

On Sunday, we took advantage of a nice warm, overcast morning to take Mrs HP down to the local markets then Brunch in one of our favorite Cafe's, so the roof was folded down and off we went.
It was as I was parking, for some reason I noticed a dark spot on the floor mat and looked further up, and saw this

Bugger, the clutch master cylinder has leaked, didnt notice it over the last couple of weeks driving to work.
Unbolted it this arvo, so I'll clean it all up and kit it out.
Have to keep an eye on the seal quality hey Dave

Had an issue a few weeks ago when something weird happened, it actually rained here

On the way home from work I went through a round a bout and PRU didnt steer exactly where I pointed her

I knew where to look straight away, and yep, lower control arm bush's were flogged. Not very old, only 6 or 7,000 ks.
Last weekend I had no where to go ( Nor had a good excuse to go anywhere

) and replaced them. A couple of hours in the sunshine wasn't so bad

Both sides were flogged out, but it was turning right that let me know they were U S ( Un Servicable).

Ive since ordered some new Urathane ones. Probably wont get many K's with the rubber ones before I replace them, but i have seen too many Egg shaped ones die early and destroy tyres. Shorty's Oodnadatta run is one other example of a failed, not so good part that when it fails on the road, makes it frustrating .
I am sceptical, but lets hope the urathane is a better and more reliable part. Lucky they are not too hard to change out.
