You definitely have acces Ratty.

If you get pretty much all the way through and then nothing happens, it sounds as though the photos you're trying to upload are too big. The new forum software will resize them up to about 1 MB, but anything larger than that will need to be manually resized before uploading.

Let us know if you still have problems.

Hi,

The change seems to be when the forum was moved to a new server. Using the forum gallery to resize your photos takes a lot of horsepower, and it is possible that there is now a limit to stop the Mokes Inc forum slowing down the other users of the server.

Your images will always look better and upload faster if you can resize them yourself first - and also stops Terry getting into trouble with the hosting company. ;)

Slightly oversize images and avatars should be OK, but anything over 1mb can cause problems and really should be resized first.

I'll put up a how to on resizing and change the posting photos thread soon.

Cheers, MD.

Hi,

I have had a look at the settings in the software and it says that it is able to upload 20mb however the to store the images I have set a 150kb at a 75% compression as the limit for what we actually store. This hasn't changed for years.

Either the Hosting company is enforcing a limit that I can not see on the size on the 3rd party software on the server that does the work in resizing images or your images are simply too big to be compressed/reduced in size to come under the limits I mentioned above.

A digit image of 1 or 2mb used to be a big image but now devices are taking 4-5mb images.

If you have an image you know has failed and would like me to look at it, send a PM and I will arrange something.

But as MD says, resizing them before uploading will be quicker and use less bandwidth for the site and you. The article MD is working on has made it very simple to follow and has links to download toys to help shrick them quickly.

Thanks everybody,
Not working tomorrow so will have a play at resizing them, and see what happens.  Only using a very basic camera, but you never know.
Cheers, Ratty
