MokeFest 2013 - Western Australia.

This event is to be held in Western Australia, obviously, over the week of the 21st to the 29th of September in 2013 with what is hoped to be a reasonable number of Mokes making the trek across from the eastern states.

The plan that is formulating at the moment is to kick off MokeFest 2013 with a social weekend a few hours east of Perth where East meets West, those coming over from the eastern States meet the locals from Perth and other areas of WA in a unique environment away from the hassles of normal life, for a couple of days at least.

For the next week people are encouraged to travel around WA in groups or individuals and enjoy what the west has to offer. It is hoped that the Moke owners of Perth and WA will take the opportunity to join in with the tourists and provide some local knowledge and experiences.

For the weekend of the 28/29th of September I am expecting we all regroup in or around Perth for some local activities, a dinner and car display where we can aim to get as many Moke owners as possible together in one place in Western Australia.

The idea of holding a Moke event like this in Western Australia has been me with since 2006 and it is intended to achieve a few things. 

• To recognise the efforts and distance traveled by the groups that have come across from Western Australia to  attend the National Moke Musters in 2006 and 2011.
• To give Moke Owners the opportunity to take that 'once in a lifetime' trip across the Nullabor in their Moke in the safety and comfort of others. To expose many people to what I enjoy about Mokes in that they are a unique way to see and experience our country and are best shared with friends.
• To provide the Moke owners of Western Australia a bit of the experience and friendship we have enjoyed at Shepparton, Wagga and Tamworth over the past seven years
