Can Google maps be embedded in forum posts?
« on: September 12, 2013, 10:24:50 PM »
A question for Terry, I suspect.  Can Google maps be embedded in posts?  It's simple to generate the Google map BB code on the map site, but does SMF (the forum software) handle iframe? If it can be done, what is the syntax? Does it use [url], [img],  or something else? Thought this might be useful to follow trips.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

It is possible to be done however it is not available by default as the use of IFRAME is considered a high security risk for the injection of malware and automatically stripped out of the posts if anyone tries to insert it.

When we catch up in P.A. we can have a look at a couple of options to do what you want to do and work out from there which is easiest.
