International Moke Day/Mokefest 2013 Perth
« on: September 30, 2013, 11:01:32 AM »
A few pics of the IMD/Mokefest gathering in Perth. Apologies for no labels - got to get on the road.

Fabulous day, the WA team were terrific and I'm sure others will have heaps of great shots to share.

Here we go:

Hi Spider,

I thought the final count was 42, but I know the WA guys got everyone to sign their attendance book.

Jason, Bridget - what is the official tally?

Hi Mokers the official tally was 42, it was a fantastic day and a great run to York. The travelling Mokefest group are a great bunch and it was sad to say goodby, safe travelling to the group.  :) :'(

42 ?????  That just proves that Mokes are the meaning of life.

Official count and pics taken, the WA crew took us for a run out to York via "the zigzags" - and boy did they zig and zag ;D. The convoy stopped for a photoshoot:

While Shorty gave a demonstration of what happens to a kangaroo that meets a road train.....

Your correspondent is not too sure what was happening with Allan here:

...but it will appear in the newspapers tomorrow:

Sadly when we got to York it was time for us to say goodbye to our WA friends and head off in various directions - the ABH crew to Kelleberrin and The Kennel for final preparation, Shorty to Kelleberrin before the push for home; Homey to Merredin en route to Kalgoorlie; Smokey, Woody and the Smouldering Logs (another 70's Country and Western band) to points South West, and the WA team home for a well-deserved rest after looking after us so well.

'Bye, WA - look forward to seeing you again soon!

I/we Really appreciate the time and effort you have invested in your posts and pics Homie.... Absolutely fantastic.... Thank you

I think Australia had a great 2013

I had a thought earlier about perhaps an Anual Australian IMD page But soo many photos and to seperate states in one page would be soo much work

Well done again and safe travels home guys and girls  8)

Thanks for the lovely comments, guys. It's our privilege to share the journey with everyone.

Finally (from me) a few catch-up pics of Moke Central before the Saturday coastal run.

Mazy takes a last look at Moke Central:

Mazy's touch of luxury for the trip:

The final briefing:

Alishia (? - someone help me out if I'm wrong)' Woody, Samm, Smokey, Biggles.

Moke 71, Biggles, Ruth, rear view of Jason

Terry's Dad, Terry, Alishia (?), Woody, Smithy, Smokey, Biggles, Ruth,, Di, Shorty.

Woody, Smokey, Moke 71, Biggles, Ruth, Di, Shorty, Georgie, Coxy, Jason.

Jack takes the driving seat. "Stay outta my Moke or I'll lick you to death"

Samm and Jack discuss suspension cones. Actually, Jack thought he said 'bones'.......

Terry gets a couple of pointers on the art of cheerleading for Freo:

Geez, I'll never get the hang of this....

But Georgie reckoned he only missed by "that much".....

Sincere thanks to the Man in Black, MadDog, for all his efforts in making this Mokefest a reality:

Now it just remains to say a huge THANK YOU to the wonderful Bridget H and her tremendous helpful, funny, nothing-too-much-bother team:

Sam Brown
Viv Separovic
Allan Miles
Jason Beams
Anita Strong

Bridget leading three very well-deserved cheers for the man of the moment - our Mokefest leader Terry. Another great job, Terry!

My apologies if I've missed anyone, there were just so many friendly faces.

This is my last post in this particular thread. Thanks to all the people who have followed us on our forum journey and for your kind comments that have made it feel like you were along on the trip. Di and I look forward to the next Moke adventure. See you then!

Cub Reporter Homey signing off.

Well done Homey, still a few mile to cover before you get home so any more "Late breaking news" or good photo opportunities of the convoy home, will be appreciated.
Can you identify the crew in your 6th photo?

Happy Mokin

Pete,

Sorry, standards slipping everwhere!  I've edited the post to include names where possible.

Will revert to the "And they're off.." Thread for any updates on the way home  :) :) :)

PS Yes, I doubled up on one of the pics - oops  :o
