No pressure, but 17 months, 1 week left  ;) ;D

Awww, that's not very nice PP, quite possibly, very accurate though.

If it has a wooden handle and is shaped like a spade, I'd call it a spade.  Now I just have to get in and finish some Mokes.

Mind you I am half way to having  3 or 4 runners at the moment.  They all have no floors, so I only need to put wheels on them and find people to get in and run with me........

Since I longed back in and found out about the plans for a Tassie trip in 2015, I fell I have an obligation to have a Moke on the road by then.

Feel free to dish it out to me over the next 18 months, I will be there.

Cheers

Dev

Good on you SAmokin for picking a subject that is sure to stir interest!!!

Newie - your thoughts and distinctions between event types was excellent.. heck even i understood.
I also saw a subtle plug for some of the joiners to maybe become some of the organisers. ( i don't mean that in a disparaging way, and i think Moke Fest, IMD, etc organisers always truly appreciate participants , but sometimes , it would be nice if others share the excitement, fun and comraderie of organising an event ( note i didn't say share the load, pressure or work :-* :-* )

Now i must admit , i haven't done any homework( googling) on this, but can someone tell me the club structures/ hierarchies across the nation ( total noob analysis..  I know of  a Moke owners assoc based in Vic, a SA moke club,  but for instance is their a QLd club ?

My thoughts are along these lines..... a) if no Qld type club exists (just as an example) then it is very unlikely that a qld event will run
                                                            b) in other member organisations, there is a national body , which influences the turn taking ( eg tassies turn in 2015, QLd in 2017
                                                            c) perhaps mokers ( wind blown vagabonds)  don't want structure

I raise these , mostly just to provoke thought, but also to compare with another club of which i am a member ( Historic Racing CC-QLD) has just put out some timely discussion on trying to refresh the organising group in a voluntary organisation.

Cheers Darryl ( returning to his cave now)

FNQ, There are only 2 moke clubs in Aust, the MOA in Victoria but it has members Aust wide, the MOA has about 150 members, and
there is the SA moke club which i think doesn't have many members maybe less than 50.

The MOA ran a Moke Muster in 2006 (Sheparton) & 2011 (Wagga) and as an Incorporated club they have their own Public Liability Insurance
Terry ran MokeFest in 2009 (Wagga) and in 2013 (Perth) and Newie & Friends ran the Round Up in 2010 & 2012, Terry's & Newie's events
were run under the Mokes Inc umbrella which simplified the PLI and organizational issues.

So while you don't need a club to run an event, just a few good friends could do it, but it would make it easier from the PLI point of view.

There is a firaly informal Moke group up in Cairns run by Max and David M. however i think they have been a bit quiet in the last year or two, but do a search on Google and David M. runs a 'yellow coloured' website that has some information about it on there.
