Hi,

Had a great day on Sunday catching up with the Perth moke owners. They are a great bunch of people who put on a fantastic display and made me very welcome.

And I finally got to see the 4WD moke! :o Have been looking forward to that for a few years.

It's a work in progress and there are still a few things to be finished - but the special bits are all intact!

It is in fantastic condition for it's age, and is in very good hands. Thank you Ray for your time and sharing your moke.

Cheers, MD.

which 4wd moke is this one? the one from Darwin?
Is the 4wd operated by a dog clutch and just a high range set up?

It's an interesting concept and cheap but probably not that effective, low range would be nice.

looks like a great moke and oh so low mileage makes it certainly museum worthy.

How many mokes did you get on the day?
1976 Moke 1275cc (Dynky),
1976 Moke(Scarlet) current project,
1974 Moke with Suzuki GTI motor (project),
1975 Moke rust bucket,
1967 Moke rust bucket

Hi Moe,

Yes, it's the one from Darwin - although it's probably been in Perth longer than anywhere now. ;)

And yes, just the single range 2 or 4 wheel drive. I don't know what diff is in it now, but believe they were testing up to 4.7! I think that was the problem in the end - it was slow and noisy on the road for not a lot of gain off the road. But it is interesting to see what they did manage with a few standard parts and a very small budget.

9 mokes for the day I think - and sorry to say I wasn't one of them... :-[ :-\

Cheers, MD.
