I have to say, Go Pro videos of people driving along the road don't normally do it for me and usually don't do justice to the great drive that the person was trying to record and share. That one was great though
. As KMC said, I had to go back and watch it again. Thanks for sharing Rod
I was Tail End Charlie that day so didn't get to play with the front runners - not that my 998 could have kept up with them anyway, it's more of a downhill racer
but knowing the road, I'm sure Rod is correct in saying it was done safely, as it's a perfect bit of dual carriageway up a steep section for racing each other without having to break any laws or take any real risks.
You front runners certainly had a better (and less scarey) run up than those of us at the back on that day
. The very small pull over area at about 1:59 on the video is now known by Newie Jr and myself as "Dynky's corner" and somehow managed to fit a sizeable pantech truck and three Mokes into it after a very near miss (well actually more of a slight hit) at the rear end of the convoy
. We weren't doing anything dangerous either. More of a case of a frustrated truck driver who didn't bother to check his mirrors and blind spot properly before changing lanes
