EBay beware.
« on: February 11, 2015, 04:42:13 PM »
Hi all,

If you are thinking of or know of anybody selling a Moke online tell them to watch out.
he Likes to make bids wait 8 days until he wins & then make up dumb stories as to why he cannot pay for the item.  >:(

(refer below email received)

"I'm so sorry my son bid on this as a surprise as he new I was keen on getting a Moke. It was for a Moke to restore not as is. Your Moke is fantastic and I'm really embarrassed about this. The only thing I could do would be to offer 10,0000 and it would need to be delivered to Gosford. I can't afford 12k I was looking to spend 5k on a Moke to restore. Again I'm really sorry about this my son had good intentions but really stuffed up. My eBay history for payment is great and fast so please understand. signed Sefash." unquote.

Not happy Jan..  >:( Mont.

That's bit of a it there  Mont. I thought you had sold Spotto. Have you reported it to Ebay as I think they don't like people doing that kind of thing. This forum needs to be more pro active about these idiots and expose them.
Sorry Mont

Cheers Shorty  :)

That's not good Mont. Unfortunately there are some strange people out there. What gain does he get from wasting your time?

On the positive side, think of it as a sign... "keep the Moke"  ;)

He's obviously trying to bring the price down after the end, hoping to hit a desperate seller.

Report him and have him toasted by eBay.   >:(

some people just don't give a shit.

I "sold" something the other day... only $50 worth, but the guy just never paid and never replied to any of my messages.

Then to avoid the final sale fees you need to go through the non paying buying process (or what ever its called)... then at the end of the day, even if you give them bad feedback... what does it matter, bad feedback on a buyer doesn't mean anything.

Thanks for you thoughts & support people.

Yes I will be reporting it to Ebay and as Evelyn said it may be a sign to keep the Moke.  ;D

I have removed the persons original name & suburb to protect peoples privacy.

Last year I bid on and won an eBay auction for a Lucas distributor at a very good price. Immediately the auction ended I received a request from the seller to cancel the bid. I declined. From then on the seller wouldn't respond to any of my communications.

A month later the same distributor was listed on the Ausmini For Sale section. Naturally I called the seller and was basically told that he didn't get a high enough bid on eBay so he decided not to sell to me - end of story. A 'verbal discussion' on the rules of eBay ensued but I could see I wasn't going to get anywhere, and I doubted I'd ever get the distributor in my hands, so I put it down to bad manners and selfishness, and moved on.

There were things I could've done to make things difficult for the seller but life's too short to get involved in petty disputes. I'd rather be doing enjoyable things.  :D

Unfortunately their will always be the idiot element to contend with.  I recently bought a set of moke seat covers from bbqdoctor who after 3 weeks still hadnt sent them.  I asked nicely several times where the goods were then with no response why he was being a timewaster and playing stupid games to which he replied all in capitals and quite rudely.

While waiting for my money back from ebay I googled him, low and behold threads here about the same dude already.  Found him on facebook and was sorely tempted to launch a full scale hassle on him, list his phone number on gay forums etc etc but then thought the same as winabbey, whats the point just move on.
