Mokin Downunder - More Photos....
« on: March 10, 2015, 03:44:53 PM »
So...back home from the best ten days ever and have a few moments to share some pictures with you all (apologies if I have inadvertently stolen some from others and you've seen them already - I just collected what I could and I think most are mine, but once loaded up here they are all watermarked so not sure.....but the disclaimer covers those that aren't!).

So...from the begining....catching up with old friends are making new ones...lining up on the Spirit of Tasmania..

The first briefing in Devonport...

On the way to the "End of the World"

The first of a few "minor adjustments" needed to some of the Mokes... (this one was a little worrying though as it was the first - and the Moke belongs to James who was the travelling mechanic tasked to supoprt us all...!)

At the "End of the World"..

Playing on the beach in Stanley (Moke drivers all seem to behave badly as soon as they hit the sand - this is one of the few moments on the beach that they are all stationary!)...

Of course, this is why you come to Tasmania...some lovely views as we went on our way - this is from the top of The Nut - the small hill behind us on the beach behind the town of Stanley

OK - more to follow - but this is a start....

Some more...

Rod giving the morning briefing...

Again - this is why you go to Tasmania...

On the beach again (lined up like good little Mokes...)

Yep - nice straight line this time too....

Getting a little out of line but not yet hooning.....that's on the video that I don't have!

Another minor adjustment (broken top ball joint this time so getting more interesting!) Full marks for enthusiasm to the knowledgable folk with us though - the willingness to help when needed is what makes these trips so special...

Picture postcard......

More to follow - watch this space...

Right folks.....some more....

Morning line-up (no minor adjustments here this time - just admiring looks under the bonnet at a very tidy turbo installation)...

And then (all 50 of us) lined up at Salamanca Markets in Hobart....

Yep - that's Grumps in the foreground - Rod should get a prize for being the only one there with two Mokes!

Last portion to follow.......

Hows that for scenery! The backgrounds pretty too...!

An evening get-together (and this is the other reason that you go on trips like these - the people.) The opportunity to embellish on the days adventures, pay your fines for being caught out doing things upside down or backwards...!

Morning tea...

And then we parked the Mokes in a semi-circle grouped by colour to make a rainbow...(I'm not clever enough to get them all in one photo, but you get the idea...)

Blue Mokes rule!!

And then we added the Moke custodians to the shot...

And finally - our gallant leaders who have expended so much time and effort to make the trip perfect - a huge THANK YOU from all of us! Hip hip Hooray!
