Hi All
For the Mokers or any body that's not on facebook in the Sydney area going to the Rylstone Classic 2017 or just wanting to see them off and spy a few classic mini's and Mokes  it will be the same as last year there has been a convoy meeting place nominated at:

Pie In The Sky 1296 Pacific Highway, Cowan 2081
When :  Saturday, August 19
Meeting from : 7:30 AM and departing 8:45 AM

At this stage it looks like around 17 Mokes will be participating in the run if all attend.

For those that haven't done the run before bring your winter woollies.

Alans ;D  ;D  ;D

Holo you will find it a bit hard getting your thermals off whilst driving when you warm up :o, It might be a show worth watching :)

Geez, Shorty in his shorts and Holo getting out of his long johns on the side of the road  :o :o

Have to make sure I bring the dark glasses  :-\

KMC and I will be heading down to Gosford on Friday, hoping to get there around lunch time to check out the car museum in the afternoon. So a three day event for us with a 300km shake down run the day before  :D

In reference to Alan S and the Pie in the sky meet up, there is a good pic of the mini beast before it died on the way to the start line last year.

I've got to find my thermals for a night in the tent.  ::) I'm still running without a clutch spring, but it got me home from Tamworth and running around locally since then, so we'll let sleeping dogs lie. Not sure I can get it looked at before Rylstone anyway.

Spent a good part of last weekend getting the Moke ready for Rylstone, which is getting very close now. Thank goodness for the odd event, or Cool Breeze would never get anything done on him  :)

KMC and I are doing an extended version of the Rylestone Classic (starting a day early on the Friday and beginning/ending in North West NSW). Playing around with Google Maps, it looks like "our" event is going to be around the 800km mark.

Looking forward to it  8)

Four more sleeps. Looking forward to the meet up at Pie in the Sky. New radio installed. What is the preferred channel for Moke to Moke communication?

A good question Holo. I was wondering the same thing yesterday when I put the mic back into mine in Cool Breeze.

I don't remember using one last year? Then again I only knew a couple of people last year, and they didn't have radios  ::)

I imagine there's probably an event channel, but I also imagine that it will be a crowded one.

We traditionally use 27 at the Round Ups, which was selected as there's usually not much other traffic on it and it's accessible to those still using 40 channel sets, so if no one else has any other suggestions, we could go with that one for "the Moke group"...

I'll be listening for you Holo on channel 27 and we will see if they tell us an event channel at Gosford but as Newie said with 150 cars with only a fraction of them on channel it will be a busy channel, so the Mokes will be that far down the back we might need our own channel anyway.

Or we can be delusional and believe like last year....
thinking that warp moke speed had taken us to the front of the pack ...
only to discover the support car and trailer following us as the last cars.....  :) :) :) :)

It's just that we Mokers are too busy cruising around enjoying ourselves to be bothered with racing  ;D ;D

I concur. Sitting on 80kmh is the sweet spot for my 998. It makes for a very pleasant drive.
