IMD - Gippsland 2017
« on: September 08, 2017, 07:06:37 PM »
Hi,

The MOA is running a trip down to Maffra Motor Museum on the Sunday of IMD for the annual Tops of for Cancer open day so there is an opportunity for you to hang out with other Mokes in the spirit of IMD.

Details in the club magazine but the display starts at 10am in the grounds of the Museum at the east end of town on Sunday.

Report of Gippsland IMD, better late than never, as they say.

There were a total of 5 mokes at the Tops off for Cancer / IMD event.

A bit of a mish mash in arrival times as some came down the day before on a tour
with about 50 other classic cars via some fun back roads.
and a couple drove up on the Sunday morning including us.

Turned out to be a nice day despite the bad weather report.

The blue veteran car next to Dynky is a Lykamobile which is a modern day steam powered kit car.

On the way home we dropped into an open day at a private car collection in Traralgon which was having its
yearly open day, although we arrived half an hour after closing time they still let us in which was good as
we got to talk to Jim and Steven Richards who were there for the day, and have a good look at the cars
with any other pesky visitors  :P

Nice report Moe and it looks like being late to the open day paid off big time  :)

Just one point though - Wasn't it called "Tops off for Cancer"? Dynky seems to be the only shy vehicle there with it's top still on....  Wondering if there was an embarrassing misunderstanding and all of the occupants turned up topless instead of the Moke?  :o

Thanks MoeMoke  :)
When I saw the little Buckboard next to Dinky, I had a smile  ;D. Kindof evolution, untill I read your story on it  :o.
Good to see a nice group of Mokes.
Its a real privilege being let into a private car collection. And what a collection  8) 8), I have always had a soft spot for Chargers, and the Force 7 is a Gem  ;D
Cheers
