Just a quick overnighter.
« on: September 17, 2017, 09:48:37 PM »
Hi All,
Was nice to get away from all things this weekend and catch up with my Brother midway between us ( 250 odd k's).
A run up the Hume to Jugiong and camp was cold and windy. Overnight temps reached -4 degrees. But a nice camp fire kept the cold at bay until it was time to hit the swag. Even under the tarp, in a good sleeping bag and swag, I still felt the cold. Sunday morning was much better thankfully with no wind and nice sunny skies
Guliver cruised well and the new shelf worked out pretty good on its first trial run. Things packed in neat and everything was easy to get at. Win  ;)

And a quick beer at the pub just before home  ;D

I new I left the plane parked somewhere  ;D

Nice one HP.

I'm thinking of sorting out a similar set up with my Moke (fly/swag combination) and will be looking at ways to fix it to the moke.

Whats with the bonnet? Looks a bit Ratish.

Nice way to test out the fridge slide and catch up with your brother at the same time HP.

With the windy night, I imagine you would have been lulled gently to sleep by the slap of the tarp against the Moke roof?

The wind settled just after dark. The Moke was also parked so it buffered the wind and the canvas tarp sat pretty still. If it was one of those cheapie blue or silver light tarps they would of been flapping just from people walking past them  ::).
Wish I could get away for more camping. Oh well, soon I guess 8)
I had to donate Guliver Bonnet for PRU's repairs, they were unable to find/supply a decent one.
So I found one for Guliver  :)

Its nothing flash guys, but short of a roof top camper on a trailer, its compact enough, sets up pretty easy, fits easily in the Moke, and when done, I was sitting in my chair watching the others finish setting up their camp.
Packing up was pretty quick as well, and fortunately, I was able to use the extra time first thing in the morning drowning worms in the river while the others packed up their camps.
Sadly, I didnt deplete the fish stocks in any way. But the serenity and water flow sounds was really nice for the short time I was sitting there holding my sore head  ;D ;D 8)
