Pooginook Conservation Park
« on: November 02, 2017, 04:37:45 PM »
Had a great weekend camping trip with the SA Moke Club on the weekend.
Some great sandy roads to navigate around the Park, great company, fantastic camp fire and my 1 minute tent and stretcher setup worked a treat. The weather was perfect Saturday and Saturday night but a shocking hot North Westerly blew up on Sunday that made the trip home a challenge.
We headed of from Mt Pleasant through to Swan Reach, Blanchetown, Cadell, Waikerie, onto Pooginook CP.

Lucky the tent was a colour match  ;)

Hp would be awesome to do a trip one day. My problem which is probably the same with most is the company I work for closes up at Christmas for 4 weeks so the bulk of my annual leave is used up. Any remaining leave I try and use with my lovely wife and do trips in the Van. So that doesn't leave much time to smell the roses in the Moke.
Yes, the Tent colour match is perfect with MM, SO COOL  8)

Hi Pete,

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed the pics.:)  Looks like a good Park for camping.
I too, noticed your perfectly colour coordinated tent! I love my 3 second Malamoo tent but it's downside is that it's not yellow.:(

Looks like a great weekend Pete.

A pity about the wind on the way home. Having done a few windy trips in the Moke lately, I think that wind - hot or cold - is my least favourite Moking weather.

Might have to go in with Mazy for a bulk buy on black and yellow Moke tents  :)

Thanks Mazy and Newie, just did a search for the Malamoo tents as hadn't heard of them. Looks like they have a yellow one in the range now :)

I don't think mine would be all that good in bad weather but the Malamoo looks the goods.

Thanks Pete, that is the tent I have, and as you point out, it is really good, but alas, the colour is fluoro green and not yellow.
I don't mind the colour at all, in fact it's nice'n'bright, and I do like it, but it just isn't yellow.::)  I wouldn't want to trade it in on a yellow one though if the quality would be less..... What brand is yours (out of curiosity)?

Certainly different levels of "3 second tents"out there.

This discussion reminded me of the 3 second tent Dean ("Moke" on here) had on a recent Moke trip. Certainly popped out in 3 seconds, but wish I'd thought to video his 10 minute gymnastic display when he was packing it up  ;D

Looks like I'll have to wait for them to bring out a yellow Malamoo and then set up camp next to the Mazys  :P

Hi Mazy, don't know the brand on mine, it was a freebie a promotional give-away, so cant complain.
Will have a closer look to see if a brand name on it.
Newie I did 1/2 doz practice runs folding it up and got it down to about 6 sec so happy with that. I am the only one in the family that can also fold up our bendy sun visor, but I still struggle big time with a pop out Shower tent, one day the damn thing will be left behind  >:(
