Bit of tech help needed
« on: June 03, 2018, 04:45:12 PM »
Rebuilding my 1275
Looking at the manuals they show lock plates/lock tabs on the
Con rod and main bearings caps .
Mine does not have them.
Something in the back of my mind tells me i read somewhere on here they are not needed.
Can anyone educate me on this.
Thanks in advanced.

Hey there T.O.M,

My last few builds I haven't used them, I've used Loctite.
The bolts and nuts should be really clean, and then I use the Loctite primer and let them dry before applying the 263.
The lock tabs are pretty cheap though, and give piece of mind the nuts wont come loose.
