Hi Guys,

I have removed these fittings off my windscreen frame to get it sandblasted and powder coated.

The rivet looked fairly small that held it in, is it any special sort of rivet, or can I use a standard stainless steel one instead?

I am worried about the back part of the rivet being too large and will interfere with the windscreen/rubber when going to refit.

Cheers

Hi,

I used a 3.2mm(1/8) rivet with a short body on a windscreen a couple of days ago.

I put the rubber into the frame first and then fit the windscreen to get everything in the right position and then put a drill in the holes to remove a bit of the rubber first so that there is room for the rivet to do its job. And I use a razor blade to stop the drill hitting the windscreen, https://www.moke.com.au/in-the-garage/body/666-windscreens-and-drills

Thanks Again Terry.

I have found some rivets in black that are that size...much appreciated.
