Springs and needles
« on: August 02, 2018, 09:54:05 AM »
Hi all.
Can those with a 1275cc and a 1 1/2"carby tell me what needle and what colour spring they have in their carby?
I have a 1275 (bored 1310) everything else standard.with what looks like "a a" needle and think i can see a faint bit of red on the spring.
Need to check if i have the right one.
Thanks.

Hi TOM,
Wish I knew more about the SU's, but I usually only read up just before a carbie rebuild.
There are a few charts out there, like this one.
https://www.minimania.com/SU_Carbs___Quick_reference_needle_selection_733

or SU Midel has one but you need to purchase it.

aa sounds farmiliar, spring I have no idea, I just used a rebuild kit from SU Midel years ago.
Must be close now, its looking great  :)

Yes when the sun is out i drive it around locally to sort any bugs out.
On wed got a wheel alignment {hard to find someone who has a set up that can do mini and mokes and done them before}
I have a adjustable front end.All good.
Just some small bugs to fine tune.
Need to fit radio because my son bought me a v8 racer.Will have headrest speakers so the v8 racer will be a good laugh.
