IMD Brisbane/north coast 2018
« on: September 24, 2018, 10:11:23 PM »
Fellow mokers.

Going for a drive on IMD from Brisbane to Caloundra to catch up with fellow moke brethren, attend an establishment for a feed, and return.

Anyone interested in meeting there, or enroute, be in touch, and let me know.

Hello TLP,  I would love  to catch up, just let me know where and when.

Rick's Diner/garage in Palmwoods is a kind of car nuts mecca, for refreshments and the like.

Cheers

Hi TLP

If Malaysia Airlines can make the trip to Brisbane, and I still have a Moke there, I should be there.
Regards,
Bruce

Meeting place for those driving

The bp travel centre at Caboolture north (Morayfield) car park between the tall kfc sign and the tall Mcdonald’s sign (northern end) at 1015 for a 1030 departure?

Sorry for the late update but unable to make it to the IMD run.
There have been problems with where we were going to live and I have to sort out a few problems.

Sorry to hear kkb. You are not the only one today, unfortunately. Currently sitting at travel centre awaiting  any other hardy mokes after trip up highway in thunderstorm. Hoping all the flashes occurring during drive were only lightning and not some flash for cash hiding on the side of the road. Will sit at area between car and caravan  parking lots opposite coach parking. Photos of day to come later, if electronics dont drown

Weather was very UNSunshine Coast to day but TLP & Myaghi did manage the run up. Had a look through the Shed and our latest project - decided that it was way too wet for a topless Moke so ventured to the Local Tavern for lunch with only the two mokes. Couple of extras in BVs so a good group - Thanks to all for the effort.

Regards
John K.

Good to hear that a few went along for lunch despite the weather, even if it was only two little piggies out on the run...

Sun is out today, and so are the mokes, drying out after the weekend.

Thanks to John and the crew from Swampy’s Garage for your hospitality. GREAT set up there.

Good to meet Team Drakman, and catch up with moke2b and 2b jnr on the day too.

Wasn’t much to photograph of the day outside of swampy’s garage, and it would be errant of me to post photos here, let alone take photos in the first place. Bit like the bat cave, or international rescue’s vehicles having a camera warning system. Thanks to ozmini for putting up photo below.

Thanks also to Miyagi for co-piloting and fine tuning some of the barnyard animals (pig, red rooster) for the run.

It was ozmini’s suggestion and prompting (plus mention of a feed) that created the trip. Thank you for the nudge, John, and good health to you.

Skywalker called in the barnyard prior to departure, shaking his head slowly, pointing to the darkening skies, saying “nope, nope. You’re mad.” I offered Miyagi a rain jacket, and Skywalker a skirt which he said he was quite happy to wear, but he still wasn’t going!  Must admit, I had my doubts also with thunderbolts and lightning (very very frightening) encountered within 5 minutes of setting off. Highway was a car park at times due to heavy rain, and extra traffic for long weekend and numerous events being held at the Sunshine Coast.

Happy to see Malaysian Airlines delivered you safe and sound KKB. Sorry you couldn’t make it and I hope you managed to sort the issues in time for a smooth move.

Best wishes and safe travels to all those attending Tamworth Roundup.
