Stopped starting
« on: October 12, 2018, 12:09:30 PM »
Hi,

I am at my wits end with my moke. I was having issues with it dieing when you put the foot down to rev the engine. I found that with choke, it ran better so I adjusted the carb fuel until it seemed to rev nicely. I shut the engine down while I locked up house to go for a road test ad it won't start at all now. I have reset the carb to the the original starting point. Still no go. I have reset points gap and checked I have spark. Compression is good. Timing seems to be fine as far as I can tell. There is fuel in the bowl and I can see the fuel pump working as the fuel filter is filling.

I can't understand why it suddenly won't start. All electrics are new except the ignition leads. Got a set on order.

Does anyone have any idea what could have gone wrong? Plugs are wet when I take them out. Still won't start after leaving over night.

 :'(

Well,

Just gave the plugs a good clean and checked the plug and coil leads.

Good on you, perseverance sometimes wins the day.
Have you taken on that proper test run yet?

Hi Halfpint,

Had it out on a couple of short runs. Running a bit rich but goes well. Looking to do a longer run in the coming days, nice weather.
