Round Up photos
« on: November 02, 2018, 11:27:48 PM »
Thought I'd start a thread for people to share their photos of the Tamworth Round Up 2018.

I didn't take a lot this year but should be able to post up a few once I download them from
all the devices we seem to lug around these days.

the first 3 are from Mt Borah, it was a hard slog for Dynky getting to the top but well worth it for the views

This was a storm we were heading into on the way back to Tamworth on Wednesday, I think we missed the worst of it luckily

more photos to come when I get a chance.
1976 Moke 1275cc (Dynky),
1976 Moke(Scarlet) current project,
1974 Moke with Suzuki GTI motor (project),

Thanks Moe and Drakman - great photos, especially the one of the storm :o

Stay tuned, and we'll get some photos up when time allows. We'll also include a few in the final 2018 Moke Round Up newsletter which we hope to have completed in the next couple of days.

Wow Mazy, thanks for all the pics. I particularly like the Bendemeer Station Road one - it looks like we're on the top of the world  :).

And thanks to everyone who has taken the time to resize and upload photos to the Forum - I know it is a cumbersome process not liked by some.

PS I note the Forum Banners have been changed to Round Up pics too  ;D

Hi,

my contribution from the photos I have downloaded from the camera tonight.

Rush Hour on the Moonbi Range.

And Dave G. and Shorty using a compass on the Moonbi range after being told the rocks in this spot were magnetic and that is why their cars were being dragged back up the hill towards where the photo was taken.

And this is Dynky rolling up hill with the engine switched off.

PS. There is a category under 'Event Related Images' in the Gallery for Tamworth 2018 images if you would like to use it.

Video evidence of this strange magnetic hill phenomenon

No one thought to tip some water on the ground to check the slope but it certainly looks to be rolling uphill.

I did pour some water on the ground when there, and yes it did seemingly run uphill :o

Finally got around to sorting out a couple of my photos. Not that I ever get that many - usually too busy herding the Moke cats  ;) ;D

These are all from the first day which was a pretty easy back roads run to Bendemeer Hotel for lunch and then a scenic, even more back roads run down Bungendore Spur until we got to Attunga and most had a frantic "see how fast your Moke can go in a head wind" run along the remaining 20km of bitumen back home to Tamworth we came up against the seriously black storm clouds shown in MoeMoke's opening post

Terry - Love the "rush hour on the Moonbi Range" shot  :)

Newie - the pic at the bottom of The Spur reminds me of Redgum's line "put the wagons in a circle"!

I may have to ask if I can use some of these pics on the new 2020 Round Up website ;) 8)
