Hi all this is my summary of the Moke Roundup Tamworth 2020. I left Sydney with my wife on the Monday morning and headed west to Gulgong with one other Moke to meet up with four Mokes that were coming up from Canberra and Temora. Unfortunately, one of the Mokes coming up from the south failed to proceed forward and was put on a flatbed for home.

The remaining five Mokes and their ten occupants stayed over in Gulgong for the night.
After a good night in Gulgong and a visit to “Stacks” the best variety store around, we set of for our Tuesday adventure.

We briefly stopped in Coolah for morning tea and then we set our sights for Gunnedah for lunch.

After a quick tour of Gunnedah, we were heading off on our last leg to the New England Region of NSW, Tamworth, and the Austin Tourist Park (aka Moke Central).
Wednesday was the official start of the Roundup and we had approximately 14 Mokes for the first days run. Our morning tea stop was on the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range with beautiful scenery and views.

We set off again, winding our way through the hills and following the river to the Kootingal Hotel, where most of us had our lunch.
On the Thursday about 18 Mokes headed via backroads for a village called Currabubula and onto Werris Creek where we enjoyed morning tea.

A couple more Mokes from Sydney joined us there before we set off to a private property for a BBQ / Camp cooked oven lunch.

There was time for everybody to sit around and catch up with distant friends. After a feed, a chat, and a bit of a lay around we returned home to Moke Central.

The next day Friday about 20 Mokes headed for Mt Borah and its panoramic views.

We enjoyed our morning tea at its base before 13 of the Mokes then proceeded to climb the steep and twisting road to the top where paragliders launch themselves into the air.

After leaving Mt Borah the 20 Mokes approximately 40 people descended on the small town of Manilla and it’s Bakery for lunch. We proceeded to buy up all their meat pies and sausage rolls and most of its small cakes. After lunch, there was a leisurely drive back to the Austin Tourist Park (Moke Central).

On Saturday our Moke numbers had swollen to 24 and it was raining as we headed out for Bobs Shed Museum at Quirindi.

Bobs Shed Museum houses a lot of Aussie motoring memorabilia and a wonderful morning tea was supplied for us. The Main Street of Quirindi was very quiet for a Saturday afternoon,

so more bakery delights for lunch. The rain was still persistent, and the heavens opened again on our wet drive back to Moke Central.
Sunday morning was the last official gathering for those of us heading south. The couple of Mokes bound for Canberra and Temora had already departed before the farewells.

Another wet and stormy day for Tamworth and those travelling. From all reports everyone arrived home safe and sound, although a little wet.
Once again Steve, Greg had organised a brilliant event that was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended, and we thank them and look forward with great anticipation to the next Moke Roundup Tamworth 2022.
