Looks can be a bit deceiving... unfortunately
A bit of her history:
She was owned by a local newsagent in Freshwater (Sydney northern beaches) and was used for the local paper run from new (76). When she became a bit rusty and dinged up, a local person purchased her for a “few dollars”. She was taken off the road in 1986 for restoration, and that’s the last time she drove. A number of body repairs have been done, but I assume that because replacement parts were not availible at the time, it was patch repaired. To be honest, most of it is very crude!, so going to take a lot of work to get her looking good.(def won’t be a show car!). I bought it to teach my som some mechanics, so will hopefully be a good bonding experience.
She’s got a 998, drum brakes all round. Picking up the engine this weekend, but have been told it was started 10 years ago on the floor, so it runs.. will strip it down to see how it looks inside.
I’ve probably got 95% of the parts, but will need:
Front and back bumpers... I prefer the straight bars, so will be in the lookout if anyone is selling?
Also need a rear bench or pair of low backs... to transport the two terror kids
Engine wise, I’ll probbaly look to get a better head for it, mild cam and a Weber carb setup.. again if someone had any leads, much appreciated..
