Light changes

Hi all

Busy planning ahead for all the changes I’d like to do during the Restoration.
I’ve never been a fan of the trailer like front and rear light, so was hoping to to the following:
Front:
Upgrade the sealed beams to H4 with built in park lights
Clear lensed Lucas L594 with orange bulbs for indicators
Rear:
Red lensed L594 for park and brake lights
Clear lensed L594 with orange bulbs for indicators
Standard number plate light.

Looking to register it in NSW.
Does anyone know if I will have any issues with this?
Do I need any other lights in the back? (Reversing, reflectors?)

Hi,
Upgrading to the H4 head lights made a huge difference and I would recommend them to anyone. I run the +120 as I do drive at night a fair bit.
The Lucas L594 tail lights look like the ones fitted to early Mokes, so should be ok (Though I cant be sure). I like the look of them better than the rectangular type. A reversing light would be a must though.

Hi,

you will need to check the ADR for the rear lights but I recall that somewhere along the way they decided you need to have a red reflective section, which may or may not apply to a 1976.

Any idea which ADR’s apply to a ‘76?
My compliance plate is missing, so can’t check there.

Hi,

ADR 13 is for rear lights I think.

The standard Hella light used on the 1976 Moke didn't have a reflector so you are probably okay. The square 1980 Hellas did have to have the reflector.
