Hi,
Pretty sure the reversing wire went through a small hole just next to the top mounting bolt of the peddle box. It then drops down behind the rack and then along the tunnel to the reverse switch.

On a remote change box the reverse switch is under the alternator.

I'm about to run the loom as well myself....so it looks like the reverse lamp wire goes in between the rack and the body when it drops down underneath?

Or does it go in front of the steering rack when it drops down?

I take it there is nothing securing it down there, it just connects to the switch?

Hi Gizmo,

I can't remember if it goes between the body and rack or not, but I would put it there just to keep it out of the way.

There is a small spring steel clip that holds the wires to the rear facing leg of the front subframe - I think they are the same as the ones that hold the brake pipe to the front of the subframe for the left wheel.

But..... depending on what exhaust you have, you may want to move the wires to a cooler location... ;) :)

Cheers MD...

Your help is appreciated.

Yeah will have to keep the exhaust in mind....don't want to melt this brand new wiring loom on the first day!

The switch can be located to either side depending whats best to miss exhaust, I changed sides with mine after 3 times replacing the wire.

That is possible, but not all housings have the female threaded area on both sides so Cheezle will need to check his before he gets too excited. :)

Hi There
My reverse switch is down at the rod changer I have feed it down between steering rack ,its just hanging till I get the exhaust on , it has been a bit frustrating buying a new wiring loom and then chopping it up, anyway I have got there after 3 weekends every thing works except for the park on the wipers  >:(

Hi,
Not sure about the very late 81/82 model wipers, but all others don’t self park.
