Jump starting the moke - where to put the jumper cables
« on: October 19, 2019, 10:03:15 AM »
At present the moke is not used much and although I sometimes remember to put it on trickle charge, that is not always the case. I can clutch start no probs, but the drive into the garage slopes, so the moke is trapped down slope from a suitable hill. I have watched the NRMA connect the jumper cables to locations in the engine bay, but not paid much attention to where.
So what do I connect to in the engine bay, or will the normal attachment to the battery terminals suffice.  :-\

HI,

I put the red cable on the big terminal on the solenoid where the battery cable connects and the black lead to the earth strap or a head bolt.

Thanks Terry.
I finally got it running later this afternoon without a jump start. Will see how we go in the morning. I think a run somewhere is in order.  ;)

It’s always ‘In Order’ Mellow one  :)
At least once a week go for a drive in the Moke  ;D
Simples  ;)
Specially since you have such a nice Moke.

You're right HP and thanks for the compliment.
Short run to the servo to top up and get mower fuel. Smile on my dial and a also on a few passers by. Plus the obligatory, "I remember a mate having a moke"  :)
I think I know which car I will be driving to work this week...
