Windscreen frame color?
« on: November 11, 2019, 09:10:43 AM »
Hi

Looking to get some opinions as to what color to paint the windscreen frame.
Car will be BRG so either black or matching the body.

Thanks in advance
Chris

Only two options Chris. Black is the preferred colour with Brg but if you have shinny bits attached to your moke you can spend a lot of time polishing the metal frame. Option one is the normal process with most mokes  Good luck with your choice and remember rule one, it’s your moke and you do what you think suits your style. I remember a quote in the paper at the mokesdownunder show in Hobart. Every moke there was different to the one parked beside it. as it should be. Happy Moking Chris

Yelter is on the money...

Have some fun with it and do what ever you want.

Look through pics of other mokes and see which you think look the best.

I spent years trying to stay original until I decided it was my moke.
Why me!!

Hi,

with whatever colour you go with consider that a canopy will probably rub through the paint eventually and will start show up patches of the undercoat/primer or just shiny metal.

The lighter colours of white and silver hide the contrast with a the underlying metal better than a dark colour, however if a Dark colour looks best then use a dark or tinted primer and have a small tin for touching up later on.

You can also get stainless steel windscreen frames and side light surrounds.  I bet they are expensive though.

My Moke is BRG and i have a black screen surround, as Terry said the top of the frame where the top flaps and rubs on it is wearing through in spots.

Cheers
