Car Insurance - limited use cover
« on: November 29, 2019, 10:47:55 AM »
I'm wondering how may people have their moke on limited use cover rather than full cover. With Shannons limited use covers average use of once or twice a week on average to 104 times per year. For me It would be a couple of hundred dollars cheaper. I know club insurance would be different, but I'm not in a club.

Mine is on limited mileage (I think) with Shannons. Suits me well, but strangely they don't have any way of accounting for my usage (like odometer readings) they just assume that I'm not doing 20,000 Km a year in the Moke.

I have several other vehicles with them. I've only had to make one claim, but it was incredibly easy and they just sorted it out.

Thanks Tim. Both my cars are with Shannons. They were great when the Hilux got written off last year. They said today that the usage is almost like depending on your honesty as to how often you drive it, no log books needed.

I have comprehensive insurance for $25k agreed value for 100 days use per year, no commuting, at a premium of $365 pa.
Can't recall the insurer as I use a broker to get me the best insurance.
Cheers,

I found that racv limited use was much cheaper than shannons and came with extra cover assist as part of the deal.
I also found shannons attitude hard to get along with.
Cheers.
