Year identification
« on: February 13, 2020, 04:04:09 PM »
Just purchased my 4th project moke, with 100% intent on finishing and driving this one.
Just need some help identifying it.
Type YJBAB1R
serial number 2418
Engine number 9YB/U/R.  2959
Colour 1/ Champion RD/3

I’v done some reading and have come up with it was a little wheeler just not sure on year. Am tossing up between a full original rebuild or a custom rebuild?

Will do a thread in the Around the Garage on the build

Hi,

yes a little wheeler probably 1967 vintage but interesting the colour is Red and not the usual green. I had a red one years ago but they are not common.

If you put up some pictures of the condition and what you have got it might help you know whether it is complete enough for an original restore or you can not feel guilty about going custom.

Thanks Terry, much appreciated
Pickup is tomorrow, purchased without seeing in person only from some basic photos so will be interesting. Floor pans are pretty average but still a fair bit of meat too put some new ones in. Will post some photos tomorrow when I get it home
