handbrake wont click

Hi my handbrake won't stay up or lock in.. (There is no click)

Is there a spring or mechanism that can play up

Hi,
There is a spring under the thumb button.
The little button can be unscrewed, but it’s more likely the pawl pivot is seized.
Try lifting the hand brake lever arm up and spray some WD40 around the rivet and keep lifting and lowering and pressing the button till it frees up.
