Are Early Mini and MOKE Speedos the same?
« on: May 22, 2020, 09:52:32 AM »
Sorry if this has been discussed but I didn't find an answer in my search.  I have a really nice Mini speedometer left over from my Mini build that I just completed.  I am hoping I can use it in the MOKE but I don't know if there are differences because my MOKE speedo has been messed with to the extent that I don't know how it should be.  Thanks

Hi,

in most cases they are the same or interchangeable but it might help if you supplied pictures of the two speedo assemblies you have.

There are the obviously differences between MPH and KPH in terms of the display and being in the US I expect you have MPH faces. Check the face for the 800 or 1280 marking which relates to the ratio of the gears inside and make sure they are at least the same.

Hi,

I took a photo of my 1966 Moke speedo and to give you an idea what they look like from the start of production in Australia.
