Help needed to identify part

Good afternoon , In among a box of bits that came with my "swiss cheese" moke is a bar that extends and will return to its original position . It has a flat pivoting mount at each end . One end has 4 bolt holes the other has 2.  It is painted the same colour as the car

Hi,

A picture would be helpful, but nothing in the description suggests it is anything from the factory that I can think off.
