Part identification help

Good afternoon , In among a box of bits that came with my "swiss cheese" moke is a bar that extends and will return to its original position . It has a flat pivoting mount at each end . One end has 4 bolt holes the other has 2.  It is painted the same colour as the car

Any chance of a photo? I'll have a stab in the dark and say it sounds like it is a bonnet support for a Morris 1100,
a bit like the one in link below.
