roller rockers

Hi All
I have broken my roller rocker shaft , the engine wasn't over revved ,it has broken over number 1 , there is a hole through the shaft where has broken , the rockers have been in for around 1000 ks , they are new not used ,
could someone recommend a good brand that are strong

Hi Cheezle,

Can i ask what brand of roller rockers you have, I am having "issues" with mine as well.   If your set, like mine, does not have the heavy duty shaft then perhaps a heavy duty shaft may help you.  For the shaft to break there may be alignment issues with your set up.

A photo of the difference in std shaft and heavy duty.  Pretty obvious which one is the heavy duty version.

Yes my roller rockers are mini sport , the red ones 1.5 ; 1 ratio
there is a oil hole drilled through the shaft under the first clamp , the hole is very big for a small shaft , it a clean brake , I don't think my shaft looks as heavy duty as yours Dave
I would love to share some photos but I gave up a long time ago on this forum trying to post photos as my ability's don't go that far

I would shy away from any roller rockers that use circlips to hold the roller tip in place, i think MED have circlips.

I will PM you.

Yella Terra here in Australia make roller rockers for the A series engine and they look really good but a bit expensive.

Posting photos I also have had great difficulties getting the hang of posting photos. This is despite the best efforts by others on the forum to help out Thank you to them.  However only a few days ago the light globe came on - hooray So keep at it More than happy help if I can

Dave , I wish you had answered me a few hours sooner as I ordered the MED , Im rite behind  buying Australian products so I would of gone for the Yella Terra's

Hi Cheezle,

My problem with the circlips are with the set of roller rockers i got, blue 1.3:1.

My best guess is that the pins that the circlips retain are not tight enough in the holes and that allows a little movement that over time works the pin up and down in the hole making it oval.  Some of the pins in my rockers move up and down nearly 1 mm.

MED roller rockers are very well made so you should be good.
