I rung Minisport today and apparently the SU pumps only come with 5/16" inlet/outlets so that way they are compatible with more Minis.

The pumps don't come with screw in connectors, they look like plastic banjo's.

It's not all bad.  With a little bit of oil, I can get my 1/4" hose on the inlet/outlet pipes.  At least I know they are not going to leak?

The pipes are a shy under 5/16"  around 7.6 mm.  Maybe they make them that size to fit both 1/4 and 5/16" hoses.

Well thats a good outcome.
Just keep an eye on the hoses to the 5/16 tails as they can split prematurely when forced to a bigger size.
I had it happen on a facet before I machined the tail.
Cheers, Dave

Thanks Dave,

I'll keep a look out.

I'm mounting it pretty local and handy under the fuel tank inspection plate where it fits in great with a shortened down coil bracket.

Hi guy's

I am so happy.  My Moke is running again and starts first time every time.  I had some issues with the SU pump at first.   I think the problem was these pumps are so quiet compared to the thumper facet I am use to and didn't think it was working and may have had a air lock?

I ran all new fuel lines straight from the tank using 6mm nylon.  That tubing Spider suggested is compatible with 1/4 inch rubber fuel line which I was a little worried about being 0.3mm smaller than the standard 40 year old nylon fuel line but have you seen the piece of wire they used as a hose clamp in them days?

Anyway happy days,  I have 3 new SU needles I want to road test.

I also put some extra fat pretty blue heater hoses on just for Terry ;-)
