Hi Guys and Girls,
I think I have sorted my shortened pushrod problem, did them myself. I had to shorten them by 2.5 mm, a little research told me that the radius on the ball end is 11.15. I didn't know you can actually buy radius gauges but now I am the proud? owner of a set of said gauges.
I ground the hardening off on a linisher and then set the lathe up to machine the ends to the correct radius. Pushrods need to be hardened so I got some "Cherry Red" hardening compound (Hardite) is no longer available. I heated them to cherry red with a carburizing flame and quenched them in good old canola oil. A quick polish and all good, well nearly, the last one got a little too hot, actually white hot and melted one side. When the new one arrives I will have the set ready to go.
Shortened pushrods
Cheers
Dave
