Magic wand gearbox part
« on: January 11, 2021, 02:11:58 PM »
Hello every one,,,I have an export moke with the magic wand gear stick. Well typical she is flopping from one side to the other opened her up and the locating pin on the toggle just doesn't exist. I have tried to track one down with no success by chance would anyone have one they would part with???

Alternately I will have to try to drill the pin out and try to make something to replace it with any suggestions, I would imagine others have had similar situation.
Thanks Wayne

Hi,

I have found a broken off drill bit of the right diameter, about 6.5mm I think it was, fits in tight and is a little more hard wearing. You normally have to put a bit of metal back into the ball of the gear stick to take up more of the slack.

Thanks Terry I have nothing to lose I can't find one anywhere so I guess my only option is to drill it out and find something the right size and hopefully make it a press fit. I was thinking similar shank of drill bit or perhaps a need roller out of a bearing.

Cheers Wayne
