Hi again from Tasmania
« on: March 16, 2021, 02:27:09 PM »
I'm not strictly a new member, but on this new version of the site the first time.

I'm collecting my first moke in about 2 weeks time, so I'm looking forward to picking her up. She is a 1973 army unit in good condition.  I'm also on the hunt for an army trailer to put on her as well.

A couple of jobs I want to do in time, a mirror isn't the right one so I want to change that, maybe go back to original wheels.  I think i'll probably bolt in a rear seat and get it engineered so that the wife AND the kids can come on drives.

Hi Richard,
Happy to get in touch with you in Launceston, I’m out in my Moke most days. Though looking at this weeks weather forecast, I’m either going to need to put a canopy back on my moke or take a tin top to work.
If you want any tips on getting you seat through rego, I’ve done it.

Cheers

Ant

Hi Richard
Ratty here from Devonport. Like Ant, I'm also out in the moke most days. Exciting times for the pickup, have you seen it in the flesh ?

I have seen it, but not for  12 months, purchasing it from a member of a club we are both in.

Ok a couple of questions after picking up the Moke on the weekend.

I really need to look at replacing the front rubber flares / splash guards, but looking at stores they only seem to sell a full set of the 4, not just the front pair??

I need a new brake / clutch reservoir cap, seems to be a lockheed one currently, but again I looked at Minisport and there are a few different ones.

Same issue with the rear seat I want to put in, they seem to have it, but are unclear about which seatbelts suit??

Try minis plus in Melbourne, they have them individually on their web site https://www.minisplus.com.au/moke?limit=9&limitstart=171
order online and parts usually arrive next day, well in country Vic, Tassie might take another day.

posting photos through the forum isn't as quick as social media site but it's not that hard, follow Maddogs tutorial here

Hey Richard,
Your timing is good, as of Thursday, I’ll be on holidays for 3 weeks and am happy to lend you some time and knowledge. I would have some spare caps, well pretty sure and we can look at your needs for rubber spats.
Cheers
