Hi,

you will only see sludge(water and oil) when the gasket blows into the water jacket, when you take it apart you will find the gasket is missing a piece of the narrow bridge between the two cylinders that aren't firing.

I fixed one last week but I don't think anyone took a photo of the dead gasket to show you what you are looking for, but it will be obvious.

Thanks Terry,  I'm pretty sure this has come back to haunt me. 

I have seen my fair share of blown head gaskets, this was my last one.

Yep, that will do it. I bet it will be exactly the same as we discussed way back.
It has come back to bite unfortunately.
