Moke Paint Colours and Codes
« on: January 18, 2006, 06:35:22 PM »
Hi,

Someone was asking me about Genuine Moke colours some time ago so here is your chance to contribute.

If any of you have the Dulux Paint labels still on your Moke, can you please write down and post the details up here. Specifically I am looking for the Description and Paint number/code and what the year of your Moke is.

Thanks,
Terry

O.K.Terry,
Better late than never, finally got around to this job.here's some details from our collection.Have asked some friends for their details too,so as soon as they come to hand I'll post them  up too. :)

My Moke (that we're restoring) plate says;
        Dulux ,E type Dulon,Jade Green,566-30175,acrylic lacquer.
It's year-3/78 and has a fibreglass hard top.

The little wheeler/rust bucket in the back yard has a 1/2hard top
        type;YJBABIR
        colour -  l/Empire Green 3
Think this is an early model no year on the plate

Our other (paddock basher) moke has no plate on it at all. :(
Is painted orange at the moment but was a mid blue colour under the orange from what we can see.

Hope these are of some help/interest .Cheers Netty[/color]

Terry, there's a cool Morris 1100 colour website here.

http://www.elevenhundred.com/colours.php

OK you can't accurately represent colours on monitors but it gives a good indication. Maybe you could knock together a Moke one in your copious spare time?

Hi,

I have a complete listing of the Dulux colors, years, and codes for the Leyland/BMC days and also got some numbers from other manufactuers like Spartan and Berger.

So if you can only remember the name of the paint, let me know the name and the year of the moke and I can probably reconstruct the rest of it.

Tim,

Thanks for the link, I had a good look around, and makes my efforts look a bit rough. The bar has been raised !!!

I clicked through to the Morris 1500 site and the Colour chart there is even better, so I might try for something like that. The explaination of the early colour stamp on the 1100 site was helpful.

Thanks agin Tim, you just created a few years work for me and i will have to employ people now :-)

Hey all,

I just got some Squadron Blue paint for my moke and it appears to be too dark.

Marcello mentioned a silver blue colour on his 79 model (same model as mine) so I was wondering if anyone knew the paint number.

if anyone can help me out that would be great.

thanks...
