Steelo,

You had me confused for a little while there, the One and Three should be the other way around.

The correct number is 31490

Appeared only in 1979

Bringing back an old thread... But...

From the colour Codes can anyone match a colour swatch or the closest PMS colour with these colours?

Even better a pic of a moke with its colour code?

Trying to decide on the colour to go with my moke...

Cheers

Hi, sorry could not see it any where but what is the paint number and type for " HAIRY LIME"? this is what my 73 export was originally.

And another question, where can i buy this paint from and how much will i need for a professional job?

Thank you.

Does anyone have Hariy Lime on their mokes currently? if so could i see some pictures at all please? can this be 2pac and the finish will be shiney and glossy?

YES, i know nothing about paint.

Tazz,

Hairy Lime is shade # 15571 in the Dulux range. So the number you are looking for is 566-15571.

I know that it's an old topic, but I have the paint codes for an easily available and cheap olive drab.  it's actually what the army used for almost everything from 1967 onwards.

It's made by Protec and is a semi gloss, and very easy to paint with.  needs about 50/50 paint to thinners.

the code is 342-1166 and it is called camouflage green.  should be about $46 for 4 litres.

Pheonix,

As the Army Mokes were painted in Olive Drab original;y and the paint label was hand written with 'Olive Drab' do you know what the original numbers might have been for either Dulux or Berger or whoever was supokying the paint?

G'day Terry, have a look here, it should help  ;)

http://www.remlr.com/paint.html

It's from a largeish website that I run called the registry of ex military land rovers, but the information is mostly the same for the rest of the fleet.

I only have wattyl codes for the early land rover paint schemes, but i'm not sure that it was the same olive drab for both.

# 8010-66-027-1612: Paint, olive drab, full gloss automotive enamel, "Wattyl" old code 516-71087 deleted production - in stock.

# 8010-66-025-5002: Paint, olive drab, lustreless automotive enamel, "Wattyl" stock code 151603.001 (1 litre) 151603.004 (4 litre can $58), "Wattyl" old code 516-31088-741382 deleted production - in stock.

# Paint, "Universal Flattening Base" UFB333, suit above, "Wattyl" stock code 214117.001 (1litre can $20)

The first gloss paint had to be painted over with flattener, so that may have been it.  I can ask a contact at bandiana if their moke still has the paint code on it for you.

Pheonix,

I have two Army Mokes with the original paint stickers, but they are hand written into the foil. With no numbers.

I've just had the Bandiana museum check theirs, and it's the same, it's cot the plate, but the colour is hand written on.  The army land rovers are the same, no colour is put on their plates, hence why we had to chase the information down.

According to the museum their moke appears the same olive drab as the other vehicles, but in a glossy, not matt finish, so this one is probably the right code.

Pheonix,

Last night i happened to be at someones place who had an ex-airforce Moke sitting in the drive and it had the hand written Olive Drab on a Dulon E type sticker. However this one also has a code written by hand underneath it.

T300 03882

Haven't had time to look for it, but it is a start.

Is the colour now the original colour?
The later mokes (about '78 onwards) were painted Signal Red and the code is 30671, so that be the one you are after.
Are you just doing repairs or a full respray, as red colours fade very quick any new paint  may not match what is already
there if it has faded over the last 27 odd years :)

Hi Moe,
As far as i know it is original as ive been in, under and around it pretty well and i cant see any signs of re-spray or colour change.
I need to touch up a bit of paint under the bonnet,so the paint should'nt have faded too much.I need to find the colour so i can buy the matching paint in the can to touch up.Did they come out in any other Red or will i be safe with Signal Red you think?
Thanks for your help as i need to purchase the paint on Monday!

Regards Seamoke.
