Thanks, I have been thinking that, and now need now further convincing. it stays.
Is there a simple way of checking for leaks around manifold?

It would most likely blow out on the exhaust sides so you'll know if that happens from the noise.
if it does fail near the inlets the motor will run lean and may make a sucking noise but it should fail there.

Hi,

You can also get a build up of soot on the bonnet and the firewall as a sign of a blown gasket on an exhaust outlet.

Hi PP

Whereabouts are you (I see your location says Adelaide South) as I have a Gunson's Ezybleed kit you are welcome to borrow.  It makes it soooo much easier.

I am near Blackwood.

Cheers

Thanks Rick.
Have been thinking about this bleeding caper and with suggestions from others have made some caps so I can Pressure system and pump fluid through. Have got hold of some spare Master Cyl caps and drilled out and fitted some Tyre valves. Set the compressor to 5 psi and use my tyre pumper upperer, to hopefully bleed system.
Let you know how it goes!!!!!!!!
My wee girl comes back tonight for holidays, so won't have much Moke time.

Very nice Pete - what is that little bottle with the yellow sticker on the cap near the charcoal canister?

Thanks icko,
The bottle is the Flash Lube Valve saver kit, automatically feeds through inlet in the carby spacer by vacuum. Saves putting it in the tank and cheaper. I actually have Unleaded head, so probably not necessary but doesn't do any harm. A little bit of extra protection.

Checked Dwell and Timing and all seems okay, Dwell was around 40deg so adjusted to 48 deg. It helped, but might be a dodgy plug causing rough running issues.

Nice looking engine and bay PP! :)

What size is the donk by the way? I'm not good enough to pick it by looking.

What books are you reading, mine say 62 or 63 for Dwell?
