postie Moke contingent disappeared ?
« on: March 12, 2010, 10:07:42 AM »
Hi,

Last year there were a couple of youtube clips going around with a Moke support vehicle for a bunch of guys going to ride postie bikes from Darwin to Cairns. The Moke was seriously heavy with huge over hanging alloy bars and other unnecessary goodies hanging off it and it all looked a bit over overkill and my money was on it was going to need more spares than the bikes it was carrying for. :)

I came across the website again today, savage adventure tours, and according to the blog, and what appears to be the last entry in October 19th, they manged to get 300km from Darwin to Katherine and the Moke has blown a head gasket and is overheating(why am I not surprised) and they had a few issues with some bikes.

I have sent them an email to see what happened next.

Heres the original topic http://www.moke.com.au/Forum/index.php?topic=4801.0

I have been waiting for them to update the blog but I think they may have given up on the trip.

Hi,

The email bounced so they really don't want to be found either.

Maybe with that many problems on the good road between Darwin and Katherine, only 321km, they decided that going overland might not be such a good idea.
