Mokin hats
« on: July 15, 2010, 06:41:13 PM »
G'day,
We got an unexpected surpise in the mail today.
Some one had read my mind and sent swomby and i
a couple of Mokin hats. Mine is the sort that our friend
from Portugal, Fransisco wears and i had been keeping
an eye out for one. Any way I thought i'd share them
with you.       Thank you so much TLP. ;D

         so what do you think?

Ruth reckons she should wear hers this way. That way her eyelashes, eyebrows and
nostril hairs won't get messed up. I reckon she looks better that way too plus its a bit
warmer than a paper bag.

PS. Don't listen to him Swomby - definitely better with the front flap up  :)

Nope, just read the forum.  You even asked for Boof headed size!  Looks like they fit, which is a good thing.  You need to include a pic of you wearing Ruth's!  I can assure everyone that it is NOT Boof head size.

Now you just need the flying goggles

Had to go and find the brochure I picked up to get the links.

This company is based on the Gold Coast in Qld and is called BARZ Optics Australia

The "goggle" int he picture is known as ARFA Goggle/sunglasses and in the blurb on the brochure, it says

"It was developed to inhibit eye damage from the sun, wind, glare, salt, road grime, dust and other foreign matter.  It can be fitted with both sealed and breather gaskets.  The breather gasket works best for most above water, land and air uses.  the breather holes allow enough air into the eye socket region to assist in ventilation but reduces the amount of UV and foreign particles that can create eye damage or irritation.  they offer 175 degree peripheral vision, and can be fitted with prescription RX lenses."

Here is a link to their website

and here is another link to a similar product called sea specs

I'm liking the new Moking headwear Mr Smoke.
Only thing is now you have to finish Ruth's moke so she can
christen the hat properly in her own moke!

At least at next years muster I wont be the only person
cooking their brain in their moking headwear.

Don't worry Samm, your trend setting head wear set off a few people into their own head warmers.
Looks good Smokey and Swamby.
Thinking that maybee when a new roof is made, the drivers hat is made from an offcut. Apolsterers would be pretty cool with it I would think?
Cheers

Hey, great hats! I was hoping my father still had his original goggles from when he used to fly tiger moths but he said they fell to bits after some insects made a home in them! :'(

I like the googles that Piggy has there, will have to find out costs.
Still haven't gotten to getting a pattern to make my own hats. Just been busy (and slack!)

Love the hats. ;D

Regarding the sunglasses/goggles, I think I'm going to buy a pair or two of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400131619688&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I have a colleague in the US for work at the moment, so I can get them shipped to his hotel (free shipping inside USA is included) and he can bring them back to Aus.

Cheers,
