My first moke drive on the road
« on: November 06, 2010, 04:16:17 PM »
well today i had my first drive in the moke on the road. we had to drop my brother off at phillip islansd so i drove home to mordialloc. what a blast, nearly every second car either waved or honked. people were so considerate and let me into gaps and gave me extra room. all went smooth. i love it when a car is following you closely when you come up to the round about then you boot it around and there no where to be seen. It took 1hour and 50 minutes and was a blast cant wait for next time. every one wasnt expectepting an L plater to be driving a moke

well after turning out of a side street a highway patrol cop car pulled in behind me and followed me for a couple of kms right up my arse. when we pull up at a set of lights he asked me how far should i be from the car in front (which was cabsav) and i replied 2 car lenghts, the correct answer is 2 seconds which is quiet a big distance when your in busy traffic and trying to follow another moke. so i answered wrong but he kindly corrected me and sped off as the light was green. he was quiet a good bloke. but it was pretty funny the look on his face after he saw it was actually 2 mokes not one. the ironic bit was he had been right up my arse moments before ;D ;D.

Just in case you weren't sure GT, I can tell you from experience that it pays to keep those sort of ironic observations to yourself when discussing the matter with the officer involved - they really don't appreciate these things being pointed out  ::) :'(  ;D

Got pulled over and was asked if the car was registered, big look of surprise on the cops face when he saw it was. Also got pulled over while driving a trolley down the road, didnt want to point out to that officer that it actualy had plates on it.

Got breath tested on the way home from the MOA Committee meeting/Muster meeting last night!

male cop - mid 40's - "Wow - what year? how does it run? had it long? I'd be too scared to take such a great car on the road! Looks like a heap of fun..... take care love.............."

female cop - early 20's - "Wow - what a cool car - wish i could drive one! You've made my night! Have a great drive!"

Happy constabulary - thats what we need!
