They are still out there peoples.
« on: February 27, 2011, 08:02:11 PM »
G'day All,
I picked her up this arvo. A 6/80 gal californian.
Basicaly complete but partly dismantled. Has all the
right cali bits. 5 sunraysias, front and rear bars. Blue
denim tilt forward tombstone seats in servicable nick.
An a+ 1275 that needs rebuilding and a pretty good
full canopy with all the doors and some sort of a cover
that wraps around the canopy when its folded back.
Pretty much the only thing thats missing is the front
hubs, cv's and discs. The calipers were amoung the
stuff in a big box of bits that came with it.
The body is straight and rust free just 2 tiny spots
that haven't even rusted through. Underneath is as
clean as whistle. The front nose panel has been bent
at the bottom an it hasn't had a subframe in it at some
time and its been dropped on the ground, but easy fixed.
             smoken pics shortly

Hi,

Nice pick up.

Is there a piant code sticker in the engine bay? It is an odd colour for a 1980+ Moke.

G'day Terry,
the dulon paint sticker hasn't got a printed
colour on it but a hand scratched one which states
as follows:    AVCODE  GREEN
                  T300=31 490

I thought it said avacado green but i read it under
a magnifying glass and its definately as above.
I'm pretty sure its "Tundra" an MG and pommy moke
colour.

Hi,

Terry

As I found when stripping back my Cali Moke that this colour was in fact the original colour of mine too!

Thanks for the paint codes - but I doubt I will get some mixed up - it isn't the most flattering colour.   ::)
