My yellow moke
« on: April 17, 2011, 09:54:02 PM »
G'day,
About 10 months ago, yep thats right nearly a year ago
i bought a moke on ebay which was up at Innisfail in far north
Queensland. Before i bought it i let the owner know i couldn't pick
it up straight away. No problem it could stay as long as i wanted
So the deal was done. I arranged my holidays from work for the
week prior to the Tamworth Muster, built a trailer to go and get
it but a last minute hiccup with work and holidays were shortened.
So i didn't get up there to get it. As the months rolled by the PO
was getting concerned about it still being there but a Pm from Terry
with a phone number of a moke friendly family that had just moved
to Innifail from Darwin. So a couple of phone calls later the moke was
moved to a new location.
Its very hard for Ruth and i to coordinate our holidays together
but months ago it was arranged so we could go to Wagga. But as
you know about 6 or so weeks back we were informed that Ruths
brother was getting married the muster weekend and our presence
was requested. So as not to waste the holidays we decided to go
and pick up the moke and be back in time for the wedding in Brisbane
on the Saturday of the long weekend.
But something totaly unexpected happened :o
                  to be continued.

SMOKEN, SMOKEN, SMOKEN  (Shaking my head in disbelief)

Every Muster/Mokefest/Gathering, another story snowballs, leaving one of our members on the side running the tote, giving odds on bets for what will happen next.  You never disappoint!  What was it last Mokefest, a hot pink moke if I am not mistaken?   ;)

I too can't wait for the next instalment.

As SAMM said, Edge of your seat stuff this   :D

Cyclone YASI went through Innisfail not too long ago.  The moke got moved to Brisbane for you?  Or did it end up somewhere spectacular?

Ok,
And this is why the forum means so much to me.
I recieved a pm from a concerned member who thought
it would be better for me to be enjoying my holiday
instead of driving 3000 ks to fetch a moke and he asked
me if he could get it to me. Well what do you say? i usually
do everything myself but this person was very insistant.
so after some consideration albeit brief i said ok. I still can't
believe that some one would do that for me and it took a
couple of days for it to sink in. But its true and the moke is
on its way south as i write.
Now i know you are all wondering who this forum member is.
Those of you who know him personaly may all ready have
figured it out. But for the rest i better check with him first.

           to be continued

Moke Owners = great friends

Smoken - at last!
Malinda has been a great babysitter
and Yasi was kind to your little moke
but it's time to get your new baby home.

And someone like you deserves a decent break every now and then!

Good on ya secret moker!
Been there.... Done that.... And still out doing it!
