Oh Mr HP, you are such a tease!

You must be mean to Mrs HP at time.

What a story so far, must admit it is fun waiting for the next chapter.
Keep up the chapters and keep us in suspence.

Cheers

Such a good read HP !!!!

It is so enjoyable I think you should keep it to one episode a week....   ;) ;)

A bit like a good book you don't want to end !!

Thanks everyone,
Its funny, but everyone has a story to tell about how they found, fixed/didnt fix, things that worked or didn't work for them. This isnt your normal build thread, cause I'm retelling some history of my build jouney over a long time ;) ;D.
Mine is just another Aussie Moke story!
I'll try and stay on track.
Glad you are all enjoying it. ;D ;D

Thanks again everyone.

Ok, so an eventful couple of days, and now a trailer organised for the next weekend and still a few days left without having to go to work, we thought it would be a good chance to just relax a bit and clean up ready to have all the family over for 1/4 pints first birthday party tomorrow night. ;D

Must have been about lunch time when the phone rang. ::)

" Can I please speak to Mr Halfpint "
" Speaking"
" This is Seargent Plod from down town police" :o :o
" Yes Sarge"
" I'm calling in regards to your Mini Moke that was stolen and we may have a lead?"
" OK, what can I do?" I asked.
" We have just had a call from someone moving horses from one paddock to another and thinks your car might be there"

Whoohoo, finally, maybe a real lead ??? My mind was racing and I wondered if it could be our Moke.
Then I was getting anxious and nervouse as to what we might find if it really was it.
There'd been a string of car thefts around the Border lately with most of them being thrashed and then torched :(

The Sarge continued, "I've despached a car and If you could meet us at McGaffins Rd please".
" Sure thing, I'm on my way"
McGaffins Rd? No, couldn't be, I thought to myself.
I shot into the Kitchen and rifled through the draw with all our Maps( it was before Navman and Google Maps).
As I searched I realised there was only one McGaffins rd. No way, So into the car we went, and drove all the way to where the Sarge had told us.

As we drove up to and parked next to the DiviVan, we could see people standing around and talking to the Police and pointing. There was definitely something there!

We went over to one Officer and had a quick chat.
"We thought it may be your car, not many soft top type vehicles around" He said

"Yep, thats my car" I said, and waded out to it.
The Officer asked Mrs HP how come I was so sure, and she told him how we had the roof repaired, and I'd recognise it anywhere.

Turned out that these people were moving horses and happened to notice the roof. When they got home and told the parents, they remembered the story in the paper, and even giggled at the radio announcer talking about it.

So, car found, 1.4kms from home :o :o :o >:( >:( >:( If there were no trees, I would see my house from here ::)

There is still lots to go, so will write more later, maybe when the forum has a slow day ;)

Oh dear!

Lot of crap on the roof, it must have been completely under and was only spotted when the water level droped.
