I am planning to head up to Tamworth on Thursday morning, via the old Pacific Hwy. Then turn off at Peats Ridge and north through Singleton, Maitland etc. Any others heading this direction?

Hi maties,

I'm coming, filling in my reg tonight :)

I looked up the way that I was going to go this morning. At first I got a Little excited at the chance of passing BIG banana again, but as maps can be deciving I quickly learned that it would take roughly 4 hrs just to get from Port Mac to Tam.  I'm learning that any roads between the coastal run and the parallel inland run take almost as long if not longer to get from point  B to C so you might as well go back at point A and go from there. Bless Austraian roads.

So after all that I'll look up an interesting way later as we have been going that way a fair bit lately.

I look forward to seeing you lovely bunch, especially those who have made the epic trip from other states.

P.s Cabby, Moke it with out the hood girl ;)

Big Bananna's actually at Coffs Nik, which is even further out of your way  :)

My advice would be to stay off the coast if you want to get here within a reasonable day's drive. Look inland for your interesting routes. PM me if you have any queries, or contact Ainsley as she's studied up on the various alternate routes pretty well.

IMO, coast roads are THE worst roads.
Old Moker's never die - they just smell that way

It's not whether you win or loose but how you play the game.

IMO the Pacific Hwy up the coast of NSW is by far your best chance of becoming a road statistic  :(.

I hope we get to do some off roading in

I don't know about off roading, but we can fix you up with some rough roading  :D

If you aim to be in Tamworth by lunchtime on Thursday, you could come a bit further (about half an hour) to Bendemeer and meet us there. We'll be there until 2.30 and you can join the back road scenic route back to Tamworth with the rest of us.

Thursday lunch stop will be the Bendemeer Hotel, Caroline St Bendemeer

Bendemeer is not a large town by any means, so if you find the town, you'll manage to find the pub without too much trouble  :)
