New Moke Owner - Mellow Yellow
« on: November 05, 2011, 06:53:01 PM »
Hi all,
Well I've already asked a question so thought I had better introduce myself. I had an attack of mid-life crisis and decided I wanted a Moke as a fun drive. So after trawling the net for a while, I found myself a Moke where all the work had been done for me. I now own a 1980 Moke, yellow with a blue canopy, no side curtains. And before you say anything, I'm not a Parramatta supporter.   :)

The moke has been rebuilt in 2007, and had an engine rebuild in Feb this year after blowing a head gasket. I still have more to find out about what goes where.  It's fun learning to really "drive" again.

Yes you have another "shiela"member, and I've always liked my cars. Looking forward to sharing Moke stuff with like-minded others.  :)

Hello Mello,

You don't happen to get around the eastern suburbs area do you? I seem to spot a moke of a similar description a fair bit but it always flies past and I never get enough time to catch the plate. I call it my 3 wheel van like in Mr Bean, as it randomly pops up all the time.

Wow, we're getting overrun  ;) :)

Having just spent the weekend down on the South Coast running around with a few Mokers, it's dawned on me that they included Appache (Aimee) and Team Mazy (not sure who claims ownership of that one, but it was the female half of the partnership who was proudly sporting the Moke shirt from Wagga). I should also count StRuth of Smoken/Biggles and StRuth fame, who appears to have a lot of Mokes (in a lot of pieces  ;))

Just out of interest, the male/female ratio on the forum is currently 11.1/1. High school was too long ago for me to work that out, but I know that means there are 50 something "Girl Mokers" out there on the forum.

Newie

PS. Full story of South Coast weekend (with pics of course) to come  ;)

Just to clarify for you Newie, yes 'tis the Moke shirt wearin' female that is proudly culpable in this team ;D
